Punjab Blast Outside Office Punjab Police Intelligence Unit Mohali Know Details


New Delhi: A blast was reported outside Punjab Police’s intelligence unit in Mohali. Sources told ABP Sanjha that police has denied any connection between the incident with any terror activity adding that explosives kept inside the office blasted. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has enquired about the incident from the Director-General of Police and is constantly in touch with the officials. 

In an official statement, the Mohali Police said, “A minor explosion was reported at the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Sector 77, SAS Nagar at around 7.45 pm. No damage has been reported. Senior officers are on the spot and an investigation is being done. Forensic teams have been called.”

The explosion took place at around 7:45 pm said the police adding that no damage to any property or injury to anyone was reported, as per news agency PTI. Senior police officers had reached the spot and the area has been cordoned off, forensic teams have also been called in reported the news agency. 

Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted, “Shocked to hear about the blast at the Punjab Police Intelligence headquarter in Mohali. Thankfully nobody was hurt. This brazen attack on our police force is deeply concerning and I urge CM Bhagwant Mann to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice at the earliest.”

The incident came close on the heels of the recovery of an explosive device near the Burail jail in Chandigarh on April 24.
